What it is

A crown covers the whole tooth rather than its front face, so it is the answer when a tooth is broken down, heavily filled, root-treated or badly out of line — cases where a veneer would have nothing sound to bond to.

What happens

1. Consultation, before you fly

   Photographs or a video call, then a written plan and a quote. If a crown is the wrong answer for a tooth, we say so at this stage rather than at the chair.

2. Examination and shade, day one

   X-rays and an examination confirm the plan. The shade is chosen with you — in daylight, not under a surgery lamp.

3. Preparation and temporaries

   The teeth are prepared, impressions taken digitally, and temporary crowns fitted the same day.

4. Fitting

   The crowns are milled, tried in and adjusted until the bite is right, then cemented before you fly home.

Who it suits

Zirconia is the default for back teeth, where the load is highest. At the very front, where translucency matters more than strength, E-max is sometimes the better material — your dentist will say which, and why.
