What it is
A veneer covers the front of the tooth and nothing else. Because it replaces less of the tooth, it removes less of it — which is why, where the teeth underneath are healthy, it is the better intervention even though it is the smaller one.
Veneers change colour, shape and the line of the smile. They do not move teeth: where the alignment is far out, a crown or orthodontic work is the honest answer, and we will tell you that before you book a flight.

Who it suits
Veneers suit sound teeth that are the wrong shade, shape or slightly out of line. They do not suit heavily filled, broken-down or root-treated teeth — those need the full coverage of a crown.
