What it is

An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth. Once the bone has grown around it — a process that takes months and cannot be hurried — a crown is fitted on top. That is why implant treatment is two trips rather than one, and why any clinic offering to finish it in a week is describing something else.

What happens

  1. Consultation, before you fly

    Photographs, and where needed a recent X-ray or CT scan. We can tell you a great deal before you travel, including whether a graft is likely.

  2. Placement, first visit

    The implant is placed under local anaesthetic. Most people fly home within a few days of the procedure.

  3. Healing, at home

    Several months while the bone integrates around the implant. Your coordinator stays in touch through it — this is the longest part of the treatment and the quietest.

  4. Restoration, second visit

    You come back to İzmir and the final crown is made and fitted.

Who it suits

An implant needs enough bone to hold it. Where there is not enough, a graft may be needed first — that is assessed from your scan, not guessed at, and it is part of the quote rather than a surprise later. Where most or all of a jaw is missing, All-on-4 is usually the better route.
